FLIR T420

video 25:51 min. 2016

FLIR T420 was recorded using a thermal imaging camera, a device used to register surface temperatures. The image we see is created through infrared radiation and thus visualizes differences in temperature. The body posing before the thermal camera is simultaneously concealed and anonymous, yet also exposed and intimate. The work explores the encounter between the camera as a scientific instrument and one of the classical subjects of visual art: the nude, posing woman.
